BGiftE Urban Homestead: Urban Ag Micro-Homestead projects for early learners from Pre-K–5th grades create positive childhood experiences by building engaging, memorable relationships that connect with nature.
*A micro-homestead is a small-scale initiative that focuses on producing, processing, preserving, and promoting the development of skills in acquiring nutritious food at the community level.
The following are included in the project subscriptions:
- an incubator with a candler and an automatic egg turner;
- 12 hatching eggs;
- brooder cage, chick heating element, bedding, chick feed, chick feeder, chick waterer;
- manual with instructions on operating the incubator and handling the eggs and chicks;
- Phone, text, or email support is available to answer questions and troubleshoot problems throughout the program.
